You know, those red reversing wheels, ventilated rotor, multiple plates and bridges, and even the balance bridge – none of these Rolex caliber parts look like your typical equivalent ETA 2824, 2836, or 2892 movements. I see the big difference is the 2836 is 28,600 BPH where the 2846 is a slower 21,600 BPH. I saw at www.eta.ch that they are phasing out the 2846. Is the 2846 a good movement? The ETA 2834-2 has a day and date in what you could call “Rolex configuration.” The day is written out in full in an arched display at 12 o’clock, and the date is at 3 o’clock, just like the Rolex Day-Date. The ETA 2836-2 also has a day and date, but both of these are displayed in a row at 3 o’clock.
The 2836 is essentially just the day/date version of the 2824. The Corsair has the dial cutout for the date and not the day. Some of Bernhardt's watches use the 2836 and convert the day wheel into the 24 hr complication. ETA makes the ETA 2893-2, which is a GMT movement from the Swiss factory. The genuine Rolex GMT hand does fit it. Both are considered on par with genuine Rolex movements. The thing that's nice about the Rolex 6542 and the 1675 GMTs is that the ETA is .
