Here's my review of the new YSL Libre Eau de Toilette released in 2021. I'll also choose my favorite perfume between Libre EdT, Libre EdP and Libre EdP Intense. YSL Libre by Yves Saint Laurent emerged to be a fragrance for women who wanted to feel intense and independent and it did it very well! With main notes of mandarin orange, lavender, blackcurrant, jasmine, and Madagascar vanilla, it’s a floral vanilla perfume. In fact, this perfume is so popular that there are now five different fragrances within the Libre collection. If you prefer a light, fresh scent, then I would recommend going for Libre Eau De Toilette, whereas those who prefer a more statement fragrance should opt for Libre Eau De Parfum Intense. Libre Eau de Toilette was created by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm. Top notes are Lavender, Bergamot and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Orange Blossom, Jasmine Tea and Jasmine; base notes are Musk, Vanilla and Ambergris. A lighter, fresher take on the LIBRE signature fragrance.
The verdict: My Winner of Libre Vs. Libre Intense. It was a close call, but I have to go with Libre Intense. Despite both fragrances being lavender forward, my nose found Libre Intense to be just a tad more complex and subtle with its floral notes than Libre.
